About ProtocolStudio

ProtocolStudio is building a more approachable way to work with digital hardware protocols. The project pairs a device based on the FTDI FT232H with companion software for Windows and Linux.

The idea

Connect an I²C or SPI peripheral, open one focused application, and begin investigating. The software is designed to support profiles for known devices while preserving complete manual control for discovering unfamiliar hardware, composing transactions, and understanding responses.

More than a bus adapter

GPIO control belongs in the same workflow, making it easier to manage reset lines, chip selects, LEDs, and other signals while developing or debugging a connected device.

Built for practical exploration

ProtocolStudio is for makers, engineers, educators, and embedded developers who want useful guidance without losing access to the underlying protocol details.
